Beijing-Zhangjiakou Intercity Railway, also known as Beijing-Zhangjiakou High-speed Railway, Beijing-Zhangjiakou Section of Beijing-Lanzhou Passenger Dedicated Line, and Beijing-Zhangjiakou Section of Beijing-Kunming Passenger Dedicated Line. After the completion of Beijing-Zhanghai High-speed Railway, it will be the world's first high-speed railway with a design speed of 350 km/h.
The Beijing-Zhangjiakou section of the Beijing-Lanzhou Passenger High-speed Railway starts from Beijing North Railway Station, passes through Shacheng, Xiahuayuan and Xuanhua, and arrives at Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province. The whole line is about 174 kilometers long. After the completion of the railway, the time from Zhangjiakou to Beijing by EMU train will be reduced to one hour. The project was commenced on April 29, 2016 and is expected to be completed and open to traffic by the end of 2019.
